Supporting learning opportunities for government, tribal, academia and other emerging leaders at EMC. 

 EMC is committed to removing barriers for individuals shaping the future of environmental markets
who may face financial obstacles to participation.
 

EMC also honors individuals whose work has made a significant contribution to the advancement of environmental markets.

FEE WAIVERS & TRAVEL GRANTS 

Established many years ago with the assistance of EPA, this fund prioritizes assistance to local and state agencies, and Native Nations, a is also open to federal government, academia and small nonprofits who are seeking to engage and learn more about environmental markets. 

 

Public-Sector Travel Grant  

  • For local/state/federal agencies and tribal community staff   
  • Full or Partial waived registration + up to $750 travel support   

 

Access Only Waivers 

  • Full or Partial waived registration or opportunity to volunteer 

Judith F. Taggart Founder Awards

Each award is funded by a sponsor who can pick the honoree.

Created in tribute to EMC founder Judy Taggart, the JFT Founder awards offers a new Honoree Option—sponsors may name an individual to be recognized during the award presentation—highlighting their influence, mentorship, or legacy. Both the named honoree and the award recipient are acknowledged on the Main Stage, website, program, app, and marketing. Sponsorship supports travel, lodging, and registration for Early Career or Environmental Markets Champion Award recipients. 

Early Career Mentor Award

For students and recent graduates or a person considering entering the field of ecological  solutions.  

Full conference registration + travel stipend.

Environmental Markets Champion Award

Acknowledges a person’s influence and legacy in advancing environmental markets.     

Recognition with commemorating award presented. 

(1931-2015) An educator, editor and writer, journalist, visionary, and successful entrepreneur, Judy led with a balanced approach to education and outreach, convening diverse stakeholders to connect and learn from each other, and bringing business and government together for the sustained good of the environment and economy. Judy mentored students and young professionals across geographic and cultural boundaries to be the best at their chosen career.

 Some of her many accomplishments include her role as primary editor of NEPA, creating the first outreach materials on nonpoint source for EPA, she helped establish the first watershed conference, American Wetlands Month and Audubon’s America, the North American Lake Management Society and the Terrene Institute, served as a delegate to the RAMSAR convention and was the creator of the popular EnviroScape® models that continue to be distributed throughout the U.S. and globally today.
